✳ When a website needs to do more.

Web app development

Some projects go beyond publishing pages. They need accounts, repeat use, personalised information or a process that runs through several steps. We design and develop browser-based applications around those needs, starting with the actual workflow. James’s work on Best Medicine shows how subscriptions, a video library and personal activity features can fit into one platform.

Built around your business

What we can help with

  • Workflow mapping and product requirements
  • Dashboard, account and application interface design
  • Membership and subscription functionality
  • Data models and integration planning
  • Custom user journeys and administrative tools
  • Testing, deployment and maintenance planning
Let's talk about your project

A clear route from here to there

Good work.
Without the guesswork.

01

Understand the work.

We map who uses the application, what information they need and what a successful task looks like. This reveals the permissions, data and business rules the build has to support.

02

Make the flow tangible.

We prototype the important journeys and agree the first release. Edge cases and administration get attention alongside the customer-facing screens.

03

Build the complete loop.

We connect the interface, application logic and data, then test the key tasks from start to finish. The launch plan includes who will operate and maintain the system.

Out in the world

Work that works.

A little more detail

Good questions.

The decisions before the build matter. Here are a few things that are useful to know.

01What is the difference between a website and a web application?

A website mainly publishes information. A web application lets people complete tasks: manage an account, use a tool, access personalised content or move through a workflow. Many projects combine both, with public pages introducing a private application.

02Can you build a membership website?

Yes. James developed the Best Medicine membership platform with subscription access, a workout video library, favourites, watch history and activity reporting. A new membership build would be scoped around your content, access rules and payment requirements.

03Can you connect the app to our existing systems?

We can assess the available APIs, data formats and access requirements as part of discovery. The integration approach depends on what your existing systems support, how often data must move and what should happen if a connection fails.

04Can we launch a smaller version first?

Yes. A focused first release can prove the core workflow before further features are added. We help define what must be included for the product to be useful, and what can sensibly wait.

05How do you approach security and ongoing maintenance?

We consider authentication, access roles, data handling and dependencies as part of the scope. Hosting, backups, updates and monitoring also need clear ownership. The specific measures depend on the application and the information it handles.

The bigger picture

It all connects.
